SJS Sponsors 40 Days for Life Campaign – Fall 2011

On Sunday, October 30, 2011, the St. Joseph Society sponsored the entire day for the 40 Days for Life campaign by being a presence, in support for life, in front of the abortion clinic on Concord Street.  From 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, men from Sacred Heart stood vigil and prayed for all those who are affected by abortion.

40 Days for Life is a national movement that was started over 5 years ago with just a handful of cities participating – Knoxville was one of those cities.  Currently there are over 300 cities, nationwide, holding vigils for life during the 40 days each year.

Our presence there makes a difference, and there have been many occasions where we know for certain that lives have been saved because of our vigil.  Mothers and fathers have come by later to give witness to the effect that we had, and several have brought their babies to show us.  What a blessing!

Special  thanks to all those men who participated this year.  With God’s help we can shut down these clinics and help Knoxville become a City for Life.
