The St. Joseph Society of Sacred Heart Cathedral was started in the Spring of 2011 after Fr. David Boettner met with a group of parishioners to discuss his vision for a men’s group at Sacred Heart. For a period of several months, this core group of men, came together in formation to study the needs of our parish and develop a plan of action.
O glorious St. Joseph, model of all those who are devoted to labor, obtaining from me the grace to work conscientiously, putting the call of duty above my natural inclinations to work with gratitude and joy and a spirit of penance for the remission of my sins, considering it an honor to employ and develop by means of labor the gifts received from God, to work with order, peace, moderation and patience, without ever shrinking from weariness and difficulties, to work about all with purity of intention and detachment from self, having always death before my eyes and the account that I must render of time lost, of talents wasted, of good omitted, of vain complacency in success, so fatal to the work of God. All for Jesus, all through Mary, all after thine example O Patriarch, St. Joseph. Such shall be my watch word in life and in death. Amen

More than 300 people braved the cold weather yestersay and attended the 3rd annual Rosary for Life in front of the abortion clinic on Concord Street. The prayer service was led by Cardinal Justin Rigali.

On Sunday, October 30, 2011, the St. Joseph Society sponsored the entire day for the 40 Days for Life campaign by being a presence, in support for life, in front of the abortion clinic on Concord Street. From 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, men from Sacred Heart stood vigil and prayed for all those who are affected by abortion.
